We will examine the shore at Grótta in Seltjarnarnes. Hrefna Sigurjónsdóttir, Professor, and Kristín Norðdahl, both from the University of Iceland's School of Education, educate participants on the beach's ecosystem and what lies under stock and stones. Participants will walk around Grótta on the path; making sure to complete the circle before it goes under the sea! Wellingtons and buckets are essential and a little something to nibble on is a good idea. The tour takes approxiametly 2 hours.
The tour is a collaboration between the Icelandic Touring Association and the University of Iceland, and combines the experience and knowledge of the tour guides with the knowledge of academics at the University of Iceland. The aim is to create interest in science and outdoor activities with this welcome alternative.
Participation is free of charge and everyone is welcome.
